Fatal RIB Crash in Marchwood Marina
A high-speed collision between a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) and a buoy shook Marchwood Marina, Netley, just after 10am today (22 August). Twelve people onboard were rushed to hospital, but tragically, a 15-year-old girl later died.
Emergency Services Respond
Police teamed up with the Coastguard and Marine Accident Investigation Branch to probe the incident. Hampshire Constabulary confirmed the girl’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
Witnesses Urged to Come Forward
Officers are urging anyone who saw the crash or has video footage to contact them immediately. Call 101 quoting incident 554 of 22 August to assist ongoing investigations.
