Mystery Woman Found Dead Near Fortrose Golf Club
The body of an unidentified woman was discovered on the shore near Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club at around 8:30am on Saturday, 30 January 2021. Despite extensive investigations, police have yet to establish who she is.
Police Release Composite Image in Search for Clues
Detective Inspector Craig Still said: “We’ve had a significant response to previous appeals and are grateful to everyone who has come forward. Unfortunately, this woman remains unidentified, so we’re now releasing a composite image in the hope someone recognises her.”
Appeal for Sightings in Inverness and Beyond
Officers believe the woman may have been in the Inverness area before her body was found. DI Still urged anyone who saw her around the city to get in touch.
“We’re also working with colleagues across the UK and beyond, including the National Crime Agency’s Missing Persons Unit, to see if she travelled from further afield. We’re using every resource available to identify her and notify her family,” he said.

- Athletic build
- Long blonde or brown hair
Her death is not being treated as suspicious. Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting reference number 0942 of 30 January.
