Teen Driver Rams Police in High-Speed Chase Across Kent
Chaos hit the streets of Kent on Wednesday afternoon as a stolen car fled police in a breath-taking chase from Chatham to Bexley.
Stolen Car Sparks Dangerous Pursuit
Just before 2pm on 2 March, Medway Community Policing Team officers responded to reports of a stolen vehicle on Maidstone Road, Chatham. They soon located the car, but the drama escalated when the suspect tried to ram a police vehicle in Bexley.
Driver Attempts Escape – Arrest Follows
The vehicle eventually came to a stop, but the driver made a daring attempt to flee. Tactical Operations Unit officers quickly jumped in, detaining the suspect on the spot. The stolen car and the victim’s personal belongings were recovered.
Teen Held on Multiple Charges
A 16-year-old boy from Chatham now faces a slew of serious allegations, including:
- Driving while unfit through drink or drugs
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Failing to stop
- Dangerous driving
- Criminal damage
He remains in custody as police continue their investigation.
