Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Croydon

A man in his 30s has died after being hit by a car in Croydon on Tuesday morning.

Black BMW Flees Scene After Deadly Collision

Police were called to Portland Road, SE25, just after 7:30am on 14 April following reports of a pedestrian struck by a black BMW. Officers and paramedics found the victim with severe injuries but he was pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving efforts.

Driver Arrested After Fleeing Crash

The BMW sped off before police arrived but was found nearby within an hour. A man has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody at a south London police station.

Witnesses Urged to Share Dash-Cam and CCTV

Road closures around the crash site have now lifted after a full investigation. Police are appealing for any dash-cam footage or home CCTV showing the BMW leaving the scene. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or via @MetCC quoting reference CAD 1051/14APRIL.
