An off-duty police officer quickly jumped into action at the scene of what’s suspected to be a corrosive substance attack. The officer urgently called for backup and administered crucial first aid to the victims.
Investigation Underway as Victims Remain Hospitalised
Scotland Yard confirmed that police were called at 7.21pm. Two men were discovered suffering from burns caused by a corrosive substance. Both remain in hospital receiving treatment after the life-changing assault. No arrests have been made yet, and a police cordon is still in place.
Chaos on Downs Road After Car Chase Ends in Crash
The A104 Downs Road in both directions at the junction with Lower Clapton Road remains closed. Witnesses say a car ran into a brick wall after being chased by another vehicle just before the attack. Police were first called to Downs Road and later to nearby Cricketfield Road.
