Knife and Drug Crackdown Hits Canterbury’s Parks and High Street
Over two days last week, Kent Police launched a targeted operation across Canterbury, focusing on parks and the bustling High Street. The blitz on drug-related crime and knife possession led to several arrests, searches, and seizures — sending a clear message to offenders.
Multiple Arrests and Seizures Made
- A 26-year-old man from Deal was nabbed for drug driving and cannabis possession.
- A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of drug possession.
- A 28-year-old man from Elvington, near Dover, faced drug driving allegations.
- A teenager in Dane John Gardens had a knife seized, with investigations ongoing.
- Cannabis was also confiscated from two men and a woman, each handed cannabis warnings.
All arrested suspects have since been released pending further enquiries.
Police Warn: Carrying Knives Ends in Arrest or Injury
“We had officers in uniform and plain clothes, plus police dogs, working together during this two-day action to disrupt drug activity which often fuels violent crime,” said Inspector Guy Thompson from Canterbury Community Safety Unit.
“We want residents to know that tackling drugs and knife crime remains a top priority. We will keep up operations like this to keep our streets safe.”
