Guests at a local hotel were left gobsmacked when a teenager smashed his Kia Picanto through the railings and wedged it right outside their windows in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Rescue Crew Frees One Occupant, Other Escapes Alone
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, freeing one of the two people trapped in the car. The other occupant managed to scramble out without help.
Witness Describes Dramatic Damage
“We initially thought it was a tiny car, but peering over the railings, we saw the whole vehicle jammed in, and people couldn’t stop making parking jokes. It was hard to figure out how it got down there,” said Emily, a stunned hotel resident.
“A big chunk of the railings was smashed, and some stonework was battered too – it must have hit hard,” she added.
There was a fire engine and crew on site, but they seemed to be just guarding the area. Nothing active was happening that I could see.”
Investigation Ongoing, Man Released on Bail
The police are still probing the bizarre crash, but the man involved has been released on unconditional bail pending further inquiries.
Adding to the surreal scene, hotel diners enjoyed lunch and afternoon tea just above where the car lay trapped, seemingly oblivious to the chaos below.
