A 24-year-old man suffered serious injuries after being intentionally knocked off his motorcycle on Ferry Road Drive at around 1.45pm on Thursday, July 28, 2022.
Black Fiat Panda Flees Scene After Attack
The victim was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where doctors say his condition is now stable. Witnesses say the attackers sped off in a black Fiat Panda, a vehicle that had already been reported stolen in the local area.
Police Call It a Planned Assault
Officers believe this was no random crash but a planned attack. Superintendent Mark Rennie warned: “Violence of this nature will not be tolerated in any part of the city. This is a prime example of a small group of young people instilling fear and concern in a neighbourhood.”
He added: “Our investigation is proceeding smoothly, and we will increase our policing presence in the area to reassure local residents and prevent further disruption. Every person involved in recent incidents will be pursued and arrested, with offenders brought before the courts as soon as possible.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Officers are urging anyone who saw the incident or has dashcam footage to contact Police Scotland immediately. Call 101 and quote reference 1820 of July 28, 2022, or report anonymously on 0800 555 111.
