Man Dies After Stabbing in Lewisham – Murder Probe Underway

A murder investigation is now live after a 20-year-old man tragically died from stab wounds in Lewisham.

Fatal Stabbing on Kender Street

Police rushed to Kender Street, near the junction with Queen’s Road, SE15, just before 1am on Friday, 4 August following reports of a stabbing.

Officers arrived alongside London Ambulance Service" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">London Ambulance Service paramedics to find the young man critically injured with knife wounds.

He was swiftly taken to a south London hospital but, despite medics’ best efforts, he died later that afternoon.

Met Police Launch Murder Investigation

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Wood of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the murder inquiry.

Detective Chief Superintendent Trevor Lawry, head of the Met’s South East Command, said:

“I know that local people will be shocked by this incident. Alongside Specialist Crime colleagues, we are working hard to uncover the full facts and catch those responsible.” “Officers remain at the scene and will conduct increased patrols in the coming days so anyone with information or concerns can come forward.” “If you have information but don’t want to speak directly to the police, please contact Crimestoppers – they won’t even ask for your name.” “It’s heartbreaking to see another young life lost to knife crime. My thoughts are with the man’s family and friends.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses

The man’s next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem is expected soon.

Detectives have not made any arrests at this stage. The scene remains cordoned off as forensic teams continue their work.
