Fellow Officer Also Recognised
Detective Constable Wendy Hunter earned the Livia Highly Commended Certificate for exceptional investigation and FLO work across multiple cases. The certificate was signed by Prime Minister and Viscount Simon.
Powerful Award with Heartbreaking Origins
The Livia Award was set up in 1999 by George and Giulietta Galli-Atkinson after their daughter Livia was killed by a driver who mounted the pavement. It’s handed out annually to an RTPC officer showing outstanding commitment in road death investigation and support for victims’ families.
Chief Superintendent Simon Ovens, RTPC Commander, said: “The role of a Family Liaison Officer is so vital when someone loses a loved one. The officers honoured today lead by example. We’re immensely proud of their work and grateful to Giulietta and George for their ongoing support in memory of their daughter Livia.”
Giulietta and George Galli-Atkinson added: “The Met’s RTPC boasts some of the best professionals in the country. For 22 years, the Livia Award has highlighted the vital work of Serious Collision Investigators and FLOs who exhibit unwavering professionalism and integrity in bringing perpetrators to justice. We are proud to support these dedicated officers.”
