Fatal New Year Crash on A20 Near Ashford – Two Men Arrested
Deadly Collision Rocks Mersham
Kent Police are hunting for witnesses after a serious crash on the A20 near Ashford claimed the life of a pedestrian late on New Year’s Day.
The tragedy unfolded at 11:18pm on Wednesday, 1 January 2025, on Hythe Road at Mersham le Hatch, close to the junction with The Street, Mersham.
A man in his 40s was struck and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have informed his next of kin.
Two Arrested Over Fatal Crash
Just after midnight, cops found a damaged silver Honda Jazz in Osborne Road, Willesborough. Two men were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Both remain in custody as the probe continues.
Police Search for Witnesses and Footage
Officers are pleading for anyone with clues to step forward. This includes:

- Drivers who caught the incident on dashcam
