Mystery Man Shot Dead Outside Police Station in Derby

Police are hunting for a man shot dead in a dramatic early morning incident at a Derby police station car park. The unidentified man was shot at 10:03 a.m. today and later died in hospital.

Knife-Wielding Suspect Sparks Armed Police Response

Derbyshire officers spotted the man armed with a knife at around 9:55 a.m. in the secure car park of Ascot Drive Police Station. Armed officers quickly arrived and discharged a firearm during the confrontation minutes later.

No Injuries to Officers or Public

Thankfully, no officers, staff, or passersby were hurt. Police provided emergency first aid before paramedics took over. The force confirmed the identity of the man remains unknown and a police cordon remains in place as investigations continue.

Investigation Underway

Ascot Drive remains closed as the shooting is now being probed by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). Derbyshire Constabulary urges anyone with information to come forward.
