Ben Stokes’ Durham Home Burgled While England Star Was in Pakistan

England Test cricket captain Ben Stokes has made a public plea after burglars broke into his Durham home. The robbery happened on October 17 while Stokes was away playing in Pakistan. Shockingly, his wife and two young children were at home during the break-in. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the family has been left shaken and emotionally affected.

Stolen Items Include Irreplaceable Jewellery and Personal Mementos

Stokes took to social media to urge anyone with information to come forward. “Several valuable and sentimental items were stolen, many of which are irreplaceable,” he revealed. The England skipper shared images of some of the missing jewellery and personal belongings, hoping to help catch the thieves.

“This is an appeal for any help in finding these people who carried out this act,” Stokes said. “The worst part is that it happened while my family was at home. Though we cherish the possessions, my main goal is not their recovery but to catch those responsible. Please contact Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting crime reference CRI00575927, if you have any relevant information.”

Durham Police Praised for Support Amid Ongoing Investigation

Stokes also thanked Durham Police for their support during his absence. “They have been outstanding both while I was in Pakistan and as they continue to pursue this investigation,” he added.

England Cricket Community Rallies Behind Stokes

This troubling incident comes in a tough period for Stokes. After missing the first Test with injury, he returned for the remaining matches in Pakistan, where England lost the series 2-1. Head coach Brendon McCullum praised Stokes’ resilience and commitment despite the personal setback.

The cricket community has backed the captain’s call for justice. Fans and followers are urged to report any information about the break-in to Durham Police to help bring the culprits to book.
