Armed Raid at Birmingham Petrol Station: Seven Men Arrested
Armed officers launched a dramatic early-morning swoop on a Birmingham petrol station, seizing a terrifying arsenal of weapons and arresting seven suspects. The Gulf station on Washwood Heath Road became the centre of a major police operation at around 2.30am on 7 May.
Cache of Guns, Knives, and Stun Guns Recovered
The raid involved armed cops, drone teams, and dog handlers. Officers arrested seven men, aged between their 20s and 40s, believed to be linked to serious organised crime. Firearms officers uncovered multiple guns, two stun guns, shotgun cartridges, and an alarming haul of knives and machetes. All weapons are now undergoing forensic examination as part of an ongoing investigation.
Aerial footage showed swarms of police flooding the petrol station forecourt and nearby buildings, leaving local residents stunned at the scale of the operation.
Major Success in Crackdown on Organised Crime
Detective Chief Inspector Sara Beech from the Birmingham Organised Crime and Gangs Team said: “This is one of the biggest warrants we’ve carried out in years. Recovering so many firearms in one go sends a clear message — we will not stop hunting those who bring misery to our communities.”
The raid was part of Operation Target, West Midlands Police’s relentless mission to shut down organised crime gangs in the region. A police spokesperson added:
“We work around the clock to disrupt and arrest those involved in guns, drugs, money laundering and exploitation.”
Suspects Held as Investigation Continues
The seven men arrested remain in police custody. Authorities urge anyone with information on illegal firearms or gang activity to call 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
