Sasha Johnson Shooting: Police Launch Hunt for Gunmen
Commander Alison Heydari spoke out on Tuesday, 25 May, about the shocking shooting of Sasha Johnson. “This was a shocking incident that has left a young woman with very serious injuries,” she said. “Our thoughts are with Sasha’s family, who are being supported by specially trained officers.”
Detectives Scramble to Catch Attackers
A dedicated team of detectives are working around the clock to find the person or people responsible. “They are making good progress but they need the public’s help,” Commander Heydari urged.
What Happened That Night?
Police revealed Sasha was at a party on Consort Road, Peckham, early Sunday morning. Around 3am, four black males dressed in dark clothing entered the garden and opened link="linked">fire before fleeing the scene. Officers arrived too late to catch them.
No Evidence of Targeted Attack – But Police Remain Vigilant
While Sasha is known for her activism with the UK Black Lives Matter movement, police stress there’s currently no sign the shooting was targeted. “We are not aware of any threats made against her prior to the incident,” Commander Heydari said.
