Father and Two Children Found Dead in Cromwell Avenue Home

A grisly scene unfolded this morning on Cromwell Avenue, East Cowes, after emergency services were called to a new build property. A six-year-old girl was rushed under police escort to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport, but sadly died shortly after arrival.

Hours later, police removed the body of a 44-year-old man believed to be the girl’s father. The bodies of two other children were also discovered inside the house, leaving the community reeling from the shocking triple tragedy.

Horrific Chain of Events Unfolded

Sources close to the investigation described a “horrific chain of events” within the property. Emergency crews involved in the call have been offered counselling in light of the traumatic circumstances.

Police launched a major investigation and have been conducting door-to-door enquiries throughout the afternoon. Hampshire Police’s Major Crime Unit is overseeing the probe, with a strong police presence maintaining security at the scene.

Police Reassure the Community: No Wider Threat

A police spokesperson said: “We were called to an address in Cromwell Avenue, East Cowes at 10.10am today (June 1). On arrival, officers found the body of a 44-year-old man, a six-year-old girl unconscious, who was taken to hospital and sadly died, and the bodies of two other children inside the property.

“At this stage, we are treating this as an isolated incident and would like to reassure the community there is no wider risk. We will maintain a police presence at the address overnight. We thank residents for their patience during this difficult time.”

Formal identification of the deceased is ongoing. Specialist officers are supporting the affected family members.
