Car Crashes Into Southsea Home in Shocking Driveway Blunder
Firefighters rushed to the scene after a blue VW smashed into the front of a house in Southsea. The driver, a man, was swiftly helped by fire crews and paramedics. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
Passengers Freed and Helped by Neighbours
All passengers escaped the wreck unharmed. A nearby estate agency couple on Osborne Road quickly stepped in to assist those involved. Among the passengers was a baby, about nine months old, who thankfully wasn’t hurt.
Driver Mistakes Gear, Crashes Into Property
A passer-by revealed what happened: “I think the driver was trying to do a U-turn using the driveway but accidentally went forwards instead of reversing and crashed into the building. The man looked devastated, sitting with his head in his hands.”
Police Confirm No One Inside Property at Time of Crash
A Hampshire police spokesman said: “We were called to a report of a vehicle damaging the front of a property on Richmond Terrace, Southsea. Emergency services attended. The car had overshot the driveway and ploughed into the property. It’s not believed anyone was inside at the time.”
