Tonbridge Murder: Police Hunt Doorbell and CCTV Footage as Six Arrests Made
Detectives are scrambling for doorbell camera and CCTV footage in Tonbridge following a brutal stabbing on Avebury Avenue. The total number of arrests linked to the murder has now hit six.
Four Arrested Over Fatal Stabbing, Victim Dies at Scene
The victim, a man in his twenties, was attacked in the early hours of Friday, August 19, 2022. Kent Police were called at 12.55 a.m., with ambulance crews arriving quickly. Sadly, the victim died at the scene.
Six Arrests So Far, Three Still in Custody
Out of six arrested, two have been released without charge. Still held are: a 17-year-old boy from Coulsdon, a 15-year-old girl from Tonbridge, and a 16-year-old boy from Tonbridge, all suspected of murder. Also arrested is a 47-year-old Coulsdon woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Police Urge Locals to Check Cameras and Speak Up
We have had a positive response to our appeals for information and are grateful for all the help received from members of the public,” said Detective Chief Inspector Neil Kimber of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
“We are now particularly interested in speaking with anyone who was near Nelson Avenue between 11.55 p.m. on August 18 and 12.30 a.m. on August 19. Residents are urged to check their CCTV or doorbell footage and report anything, no matter how small.”
