Counter Terrorism Policing Targets Youth with New Vigilance Campaign
‘Take action, save lives.’ That’s the urgent warning from Counter Terrorism Policing as they launch a new campaign aimed at young people. The goal? To get teens and young adults alert and reporting anything suspicious before it’s too late.
Social Media Influencer Joins the Fight
For the first time ever, the police are teaming up with a social media influencer to get their message across to 13 to 24-year-olds. They’ve done their homework—polling, focus groups, and advice from the 123. It’s also partnered with @yourpolice.uk, a safe space promoting advice on crime, antisocial behaviour, and policing tailored for teens.
Alex Finn, YourPolice.uk Project Lead, said: “The NPCC’s National Youth Engagement Programme, YourPolice.UK, has teamed up with Counter Terrorism Policing to raise awareness about spotting signs of terrorism. By sharing CPT content and adding our own, we want to empower young people with the knowledge to help keep their communities safe.”
Phase one launched on 29 June, featuring Max Balegde in talks with Head of Counter Terrorism Policing Matt Jukes. They discussed recognising warning signs, what to do during an incident, and how to report terrorism concerns swiftly and safely.
