Pregnant Woman Murdered in Croydon: Second Man Arrested
Detectives have made a second arrest in the shocking murder of a pregnant woman in Croydon. The victim has been named as Kelly Mary Fauvrelle.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on Saturday, 29 June, on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody at a south London police station. Meanwhile, a 37-year-old man, arrested the same day, has been released under investigation.
Tragic Night in Thornton Heath
Police were called just after 3:30am on 29 June to a property on Raymead Avenue, Thornton Heath, following reports of a woman in cardiac arrest. Officers and paramedics found 26-year-old Kelly, eight months pregnant, with stab wounds.
Despite desperate attempts to save her, Kelly tragically died at the scene. Her baby was delivered by paramedics but remains in critical condition in hospital. The gender of the baby has not been confirmed.
Investigation Underway
Next of kin have been informed. The Met’s Homicide and Serious Crime Command, led by Detective Chief Inspector Mick Norman, is actively investigating. Motive remains unclear at this early stage.
A post-mortem on Kelly will be carried out soon.
