Delta Pilot Snatched by Feds Right After Landing at San Francisco Airport
A Delta Air Lines pilot was hauled off by federal agents moments after Flight 2809 touched down at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) on Saturday. The Boeing 757 had flown in from Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), arriving with only minor delays caused by thick fog.
Homeland Security Storms Plane, Pilot Arrested on the Spot
Eyewitnesses aboard the flight saw a hefty police presence. Around 10 officers, including Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents, stormed the aircraft and went straight to the cockpit.
One pilot was immediately arrested in front of shocked passengers and crew — all happening without a word from the crew during the flight to keep the suspect unaware.
“They didn’t say a word the entire flight,” a passenger told the Sentinel Current. “As soon as we reached the gate, they swarmed the front. It was clear they knew exactly who they were after.”
The co-pilot appeared stunned and reportedly told passengers he had “no idea what just happened.”
Authorities Tight-Lipped, Identity of Pilot Hidden
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has kept mum on why the pilot was arrested. So far, no details have emerged about the charges or the pilot’s identity. It’s unknown whether this ties to criminal activity, immigration issues, or a federal security concern.
Delta Air Lines refused to comment, directing all media inquiries to the feds.
“We are aware of the incident involving Flight 2809. For any questions, please contact federal authorities directly,” said a Delta spokesperson.
Flight Landed Safe — Passengers Held Briefly Near Front
Despite the drama, Flight 2809 landed close to schedule with only a slight delay due to fog. Passengers disembarked as usual, though those near the front of the plane were held back briefly while the arrest unfolded.
The scenes at SFO turned from routine to headline news in a flash, leaving many wondering what’s next for the Delta pilot now in federal custody.
