Police Hunt Man Over Shocking Attempted Rape in Hoxton

Detectives are urgently appealing to the public for help to identify a man linked to an attempted rape on Hoxton Street.

Victim Attacked in Early Morning Terror

The terrifying attack happened at 5:45am on Saturday, 7 March. A woman in her 20s was approached from behind, chased, dragged to the ground, and an attempted rape was made. Thankfully, she fought back, shouting for help and scaring the suspect away.

CCTV Released of Man Spotted Near Scene

Police have now released CCTV images showing an unknown man walking along Kingsland High Street around 5:20am, about 20 minutes before the attack. Officers want to speak to anyone who recognises him.

Detective Constable Duncan Brown said: “This is a serious incident and we are extremely keen to identify and speak to the man in the CCTV images. If you recognise him, it is imperative that you let us know immediately. All calls will be treated in complete confidence.”

No Arrests Yet – Public’s Help Crucial

The victim is receiving support from specialist officers, but no arrests have been made so far. Detectives urge anyone with information to call police on 101 or contact @MetCC, quoting reference CAD 1622/7 March.
