Woman Found Seriously Injured in Ilford – Police Launch Urgent Assault Inquiry
Just after 2.40am on Sunday, 26 June, London Ambulance Service alerted police to a woman discovered with serious head injuries on Cranbrook Road, Ilford. Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene, and the woman was swiftly taken to hospital. She remains in critical condition.
Police Believe Assault Behind Horror Injuries
“Our investigation is still in the early stages, but we believe the woman was assaulted,” said Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell of the Met’s East Area BCU. “We urgently need to identify her and contact her next of kin.”
Forensic Hunt Underway – No Arrests Yet
Detectives are combing the scene with forensics, knocking on doors, and gathering CCTV footage. So far, no arrests have been made. Residents can expect a strong police presence in Ilford over the coming days.
Calling Witnesses and Dashcam Owners
Police are appealing to anyone in the Cranbrook Road area between 2.30am and 3.00am on Sunday to come forward. They particularly want anyone who may have dashcam footage or who spotted suspicious activity in Ilford recently.
“We need to speak with every possible witness to piece together what happened and catch those responsible,” said Chief Superintendent Bell.
