Knife-Wielding Suspect Sparks Fear in Clapham Streets

A dangerous man is on the loose in SW11 and SW12 after a string of frightening attacks involving a knife.

Woman Shouts Suspect Away with Knife

At around 4am on Friday, 17 November, a woman walking down Sisters Avenue, SW11, spotted a man trailing her. When he closed in, she shouted loudly, causing him to flee. The suspect was armed with a knife.

Second Attack on Sumburgh Road

Just days later, at 1:40am on Sunday, 19 November, the same man grabbed another woman on Sumburgh Road, SW12. Thankfully, she managed to escape unharmed.

Man Stabbed in Clapham

Then, in the early hours of Thursday, 23 November, a man was stabbed twice in the chest on Nightingale Lane, Clapham. His injuries were serious but not life-threatening. He has since been discharged from hospital.

Police Link Suspect to Multiple Attacks

Officers have connected these incidents to a white male suspect, aged 25-30, slim build, with short blond hair. He’s been spotted twice on 23 November – once near Holy Trinity Church by Clapham Common around 2:50am, where police gave chase but he escaped towards Clapham Common West Side.

Then again at 4:45am, the man was seen riding a red bicycle and was pursued near the junction of St John’s Road and Aliwal Road, but got away.

Police Urge Public: Don’t Approach

Detective Superintendent Dan O’Sullivan from South West Command Unit warned:

“We are extremely concerned about this man and need to find him fast. He poses a serious threat and I urge anyone with information to contact us immediately. You can also report anonymously via Crimestoppers.”

Extra police patrols will be in place at key times to protect the community.
