Homophobic Horror in Stamford Hill: Police Hunt Witnesses After Brutal Attack
Detectives are on the case following a shocking homophobic assault in Stamford Hill. The incident unfolded around 1am on Sunday, 26 July, near the junction of Seven Sisters Road and Amhurst Park.
Victim Assaulted and Robbed in Early Hours
A man in his 20s was walking across the junction when two men approached him, hurling vile homophobic abuse before launching a physical attack. The victim suffered minor injuries but was left shaken after the ordeal.
After the initial assault, the attackers returned to steal the victim’s headphones and tried to snatch his phone as well.
Suspects Described – Police Issuing Urgent Appeal
- Both suspects are white men, believed to be in their mid-20s.
- One is about 5ft 6ins, sporting a beard and a green baseball cap.
- The other stands around 6ft 2ins, with curly blond or ginger hair, wearing a leather jacket over a T-shirt.
Witnesses To Come Forward Now
Police know at least two people saw the attack. One was a woman in a white car who stopped to offer help, and another was a man spotted in a large black car passing by. Their details remain unknown.
Detective Sergeant James Rush blasted the attackers, saying: “This was a vicious attack on the victim, all the more appalling because of the homophobic abuse. I implore any witnesses to come forward. Every bit of information could be crucial.”
