Tragic Crash on A229 Thanet Way Claims Life of Man in His 50s

At 1.40pm on Monday 16 August 2021, disaster struck on the eastbound carriageway of the A229 Thanet Way near St Nicholas-at-Wade. A white DAF skip loader truck collided with a black Peugeot 3008 in a devastating smash.

One Fatality at Scene

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but sadly the Peugeot driver, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.

Kent Police Launch Serious Collision Probe

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now probing the crash. Officers are urgently appealing for witnesses to come forward.

They are particularly keen to get hold of any dashcam footage showing either vehicle before or during the collision.
