Unexplained Death in Hackney Sparks Murder Probe

Detectives are hunting for answers after a woman was found dead at a Hackney flat. Police and London Ambulance Service rushed to an address on Charnwood Street, E5, at around 4.45pm on Tuesday, 17 March following welfare concerns.

Inside, officers discovered a 57-year-old woman unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

Three Arrested in Connection with Murder

A post-mortem is set to determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at an east London police station.

Further police inquiries on Wednesday, 18 March led to the arrest of two women – aged 48 and 32 – in Southend and Hackney respectively, both suspected of murder. The 48-year-old woman is still in police custody, while the 32-year-old woman has been bailed to return later this week.
