Man Arrested After Car Rams Crowd in Battersea Brawl
Detectives have made a fresh arrest over a shocking incident where a car crashed into a group of people during a violent fight in Battersea.
26-Year-Old Held for Serious Assault
On Monday afternoon, 15 July, a 26-year-old man voluntarily attended a police station and was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent. He remains in custody for questioning.
Late-Night Chaos on Lombard Road
Police were called to Lombard Road, SW11, at 11.30pm on Saturday, 13 July, following reports of a fight involving several people. During the altercation, a car reportedly ploughed into the crowd before speeding off.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, with four victims taken to hospital. One man, in his 20s, suffered a broken leg but his injuries are not life-threatening. Another sustained a head injury and remains in stable condition. Two others escaped serious harm, and several others were treated for minor injuries on site.
Multiple Arrests and Ongoing Hunt for Driver
- Five males aged 22 to 31 were arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray.
- All were later released on bail.
- Police continue the search for the hit-and-run driver who fled before officers arrived.
