An 11-year-old girl was viciously attacked by a dog while walking to school in Stepney Green, Tower Hamlets. The shocking incident happened at around 8.30am on Wednesday, 28 September, on Ben Jonson Road.
Dog Lunges and Bites Girl Multiple Times
The young victim was passing a man walking two dogs when one suddenly lunged at her, biting her repeatedly on the hand and arm. A quick-thinking taxi driver rushed to her aid and pulled the attacking dog off.
Victim Hospitalised With Serious Injuries
The girl was rushed to hospital and spent several days receiving treatment for serious wounds, including broken bones. The terrifying ordeal has also left her traumatised.
Dog Owner Flees, Police Seek Public Help
The owner of the dogs fled the scene before police arrived. Now detectives have released footage of the dogs and their owner as they hunt for answers.
Detective Inspector Luke Hampton said: “This was a shocking and sustained attack on a young girl as she walked to school. The incident not only left her with serious injuries – including broken bones – but has also left her traumatised. We need to quickly identify the owner of these dogs to make sure this does not happen again.”
