Man Stabbed to Death in Manor Fields Park: Murder Probe Underway

Police were called at 5.05am on Thursday, 12 May, after a member of the public found the body of a man in Manor Fields Park, off City Road, Sheffield.

The victim has been named as Carlo Giannini, 34, originally from Italy but recently living in Sheffield. A post-mortem revealed he died from a stab wound.

Carlo’s family are receiving specialist support. Authorities urged everyone to respect their privacy during this tragic time.

18-Year-Old Arrested Over Murder

Detectives launched a murder investigation immediately. On 18 May, police arrested an 18-year-old Sheffield man on suspicion of multiple offences, including murder. He remains in custody.

Police Seek Witnesses and CCTV Images Released

Officers are eager to hear from anyone who saw Carlo or anyone else near Manor Fields Park on the night of 11 May. They released CCTV footage showing Carlo entering the park at around 11.05pm—possibly moments before the attack.

“If you saw Carlo around this time or noticed anyone else in the area, please come forward,” detectives urged.
