Man Found Stabbed to Death in Sheffield Park – Murder Probe Underway
Police were scrambled at 5.05am on Thursday, 12 May, after a passerby discovered the body of a man in Manor Fields Park, off City Road, Sheffield. The victim, 34-year-old Carlo Giannini, originally from Italy but now living in Sheffield, was confirmed dead from a stab wound following a post mortem.
Murder Investigation Launched
Carlo’s family is being supported by specialist officers, and police have urged the public to respect their privacy during this incredibly tough time. Officers have launched a murder investigation and are treating the case with the utmost urgency.
Teen Arrested Over Stabbing
An 18-year-old Sheffield man was arrested on 18 May on suspicion of several offences, including murder. He remains in police custody as detectives continue the investigation.
Police Seek Witnesses and CCTV Clues
Detectives are desperate to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything around the time of Carlo’s death. They released a CCTV image taken at about 11.05pm on 11 May, showing Carlo entering Manor Fields Park just hours before he was found.
