Police Break Up Massive Biker Gathering in Birmingham After 60+ Complaints
West Midlands Police stormed a huge biker meet-up in Birmingham today after more than 60 calls flooded in from worried locals. Over 100 people, including 20-30 bikers, caused chaos and danger on Moat Lane, Sheldon, forcing cops to act fast.
Reckless Riders Spark Fear on Moat Lane
The gang was spotted performing wheelies, speeding, and riding dangerously. Residents and drivers were spooked by the reckless antics, prompting specialist police teams to swoop in around 5pm. Using dispersal powers, officers ordered the crowd to scatter or face arrest.
Tribute Ride Turns Turmoil
The gathering was meant to honour Liam Jones, 22, who tragically died after being hit by a car near Moat Lane and Vera Road on Tuesday night. The community is mourning the young man’s loss, with police working closely with Liam’s family during this tough time.
Four Arrested Over Liam Jones Murder
Ch Insp James Spencer of Birmingham Police said while respect for Liam is understandable, dangerous road behaviour is not. “Reckless actions endangered both attendees and other road users,” he warned.
Four people arrested on suspicion of Liam’s murder have been bailed pending further inquiries. Police are reviewing drone footage and images from the event to hunt down anyone responsible for the chaos.
Ongoing Investigation and Heightened Safety Measures
Authorities vow to keep dispersal powers active to protect Sheldon residents. They urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward and help the investigation.
