River Wyre Locked Down in Search for Missing Nicola Bulley
Roads along the River Wyre in St Michaels on Wyre, Lancashire are closed amid an intense search for Nicola Bulley, 45. The mother-of-two vanished while walking her dog at around 9:10 a.m. on January 27.
Family Reject River Fall Theory
Police say Nicola likely fell into the river, but her family and friends strongly deny this. They insist there is “no evidence whatsoever” to support the theory.
Authorities revealed Nicola had “significant issues with alcohol” linked to “ongoing struggles with the menopause.” Her family condemned the leak of private details, saying:
“Although we know Nikki would not have wanted this, there are people out there speculating and threatening to sell stories about her. This is abhorrent and must be stopped.”
“The public’s attention must be focused on finding her, not on making up wild theories about her personal life.”
Key Clue Found by Dog Walker
A local dog walker discovered Nicola’s phone on a bench the morning she disappeared. Identifying himself as Ron, he told Sky News he immediately felt “this is not right.”
He also noticed the phone’s wallpaper showed Nicola with her partner, Paul Ansell, and said he gave police a detailed statement.
