Man Arrested After Fatal Bridport Crash Released Under Investigation
A man nabbed over a deadly crash on Bridport’s A35 has now been released under investigation while police dig deeper.
Fatal Collision on A35 Sea Road South
At 11.15pm on Monday, 13 November 2017, a two-vehicle smash ripped through Sea Road South near the Crown roundabout. A silver Mercedes convertible collided with a black Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck in a terrifying crash.
One Dead, Three Seriously Injured
Tragically, Steve Spear, 64, the Mitsubishi driver, died at the scene. Three men – aged 30, 32 and 35 – all occupants of the Mercedes, were rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Arrests Made but Charges Yet to Follow
- A 30-year-old Bridport man was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and now released under investigation.
- A 33-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman from Bridport were also held but released without charge.
