The scam involves women in their 20s approaching victims with clipboards, claiming to be deaf and asking for donations. When the victims open their purses or wallets, the suspects strike—snatching much larger sums of money.

£300 Stolen at Sainsbury’s

  • One victim lost £300 from their car in the Crowborough Sainsbury’s car park.
  • Another had £100 stolen from their vehicle in the Waitrose car park in town.
