Woman in 70s Critically Hurt After Van Hits Pedestrian in Maidstone
Kent Police are hunting for witnesses after a serious crash in Maidstone left a woman in her 70s fighting for her life.
Van Reverses Into Pedestrian Near Busy High Street
The crash happened around 8.20am on Wednesday, 14 May 2025. A white Fiat Ducato van was seen reversing along Market Buildings towards the High Street when it struck the elderly woman.
She was rushed to a London hospital in critical condition.
Driver Arrested and Now on Bail as Investigation Continues
The van driver was arrested but has since been released on bail while Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit probes the incident.
A police spokesperson urged the public,
“We urge anyone who saw the incident or has relevant footage to get in touch.”
