Dramatic Rescue at Tennyson Down Near Freshwater
Police and Coastguard teams sprang into action late Tuesday night at Tennyson Down near Freshwater. Just after 9.30pm, emergency services were called to Watcombe Bay to rescue a stranded person at a tricky 400-metre point.
Coastguards and Lifeboat Join Forces
Coastguard officers expertly extracted the casualty and carried them to an ambulance waiting on the main road. The Freshwater Independent Lifeboat crew was put on standby, ready for immediate launch if needed.
Thankfully, the lifeboat team was stood down shortly after 10.30pm, as the situation was brought under control.
