A young care worker was rushed to hospital after being hit by a speeding car that fled the scene on the Isle of Wight this morning.
Hit-and-Run Shocker in Ventnor
At around 11.30am on Wednesday, a red Alfa Romeo Mito sped towards two pedestrians crossing the corner of Spring Hill Road and High Street near Tesco Express in Ventnor. The driver failed to stop after striking the woman in her 20s, who was thrown onto the road as the car sped downhill.
CCTV Could Crack Case
Eyewitnesses say the driver intentionally accelerated towards the pair. Local CCTV footage may have caught the smash, with Hampshire Police now launching a full investigation into the incident.
Police Hunt Driver of Red Alfa Mito
Officers are urgently appealing for anyone with information to come forward. They want to speak to the driver of the red Alfa Mito involved in the hit-and-run. The care worker was taken to hospital for checks but the shock is still fresh.
