Tragic Crash Outside Crawley Leisure Park Leaves Young Woman Dead
A man sits in police custody today following a horrific collision that killed a young woman and seriously injured two others outside Crawley Leisure Park.
Deadly Smash on London Road
Emergency services rushed to London Road at around 8:36pm on Saturday, April 12, after a grey BMW 3 Series mounted the pavement and struck three pedestrians.
A 25-year-old woman died at the scene. Her 12-year-old sister and 19-year-old cousin, all local residents, sustained serious injuries and remain hospitalised. Their families have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
Suspect Arrested at Scene
A 33-year-old man from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drugs. He remains in police custody as investigations continue.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
“Our thoughts are with the victims’ family at this difficult time and we ask that the public respect their right to privacy,” said Chief Inspector James Davidson of Sussex Police. “We swiftly arrested a suspect and are working to uncover the exact circumstances.
This crash happened in a busy area. Anyone who saw what happened or has mobile, dash cam, or CCTV footage is urged to come forward.”
