Family Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Bournemouth Hit-and-Run Cyclist
The family of cyclist Christopher Gibbs have paid a moving tribute after he was killed in a hit-and-run on the A338 Spur Road near Bournemouth.
Tragic Hit-and-Run on A338
At around 10.39pm on Tuesday 3 October 2017, 30-year-old Christopher from Poole was struck by a vehicle on the southbound A338 Spur Road, about a mile from the Ashley Heath roundabout.
The driver allegedly fled the scene without stopping. Emergency services searched the area, but Christopher was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspects Arrested in Southampton
Early the following morning, police found a white Mercedes van in Nursling, Southampton, believed to be involved in the collision.
A 57-year-old Southampton man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop. A 57-year-old woman from Southampton was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both are cooperating with police.

Police Appeal for Witnesses
Inspector Matt Butler from the traffic unit urged anyone near Verwood, the A31 or A338 between 9.30pm and 10.40pm on 3 October to come forward.
