Fatal Collision Shuts A22 in Warlingham
The A22 in Warlingham is closed between the B270 roundabout and the Ann Summers roundabout following a tragic accident. Police are on the scene after a pedestrian was fatally injured in a suspected hit-and-run.
Pedestrian Dies After Late-Night Crash
Officers were called just after 10pm on Thursday, January 9, to the A22 Godstone Road near Hillside Road. A 30-year-old man from Warlingham was found seriously injured and later pronounced dead at the scene. His grieving family has been informed.
Police Seek Witnesses in Hit-and-Run Probe
PC Gemma Morgan revealed there was no vehicle at the scene, but investigators believe the collision may involve a driver who failed to stop. She urged anyone who saw a vehicle driving erratically or with damage matching the collision to come forward immediately.
