A devastating fire ripped through a property near the YMCA on Forest Road in Walthamstow late Sunday night, leaving one person dead and the community in shock.

Firefighters Battle Intense Inferno

Shortly after 10.30pm on 21st April 2024, emergency lines were flooded with calls reporting thick smoke and flames. Six fire crews, with 40 firefighters and officers, rushed to the scene. Supported by HART paramedics, they fought the fierce blaze, but tragically one victim did not survive.

Investigation Underway as Road Remains Closed

The Metropolitan Police and London Fire Brigade quickly launched an inquiry into the cause of the fire. Forest Road remains closed between Farnan Avenue and Shernall Street as authorities secure the site and gather evidence.
