Blaze Breaks Out in Erith Flat, 50 Evacuated

A fire ripped through a sixth-floor flat in Erith this afternoon, forcing around 50 residents to flee for safety.

Firefighters Race to Scene on Kale Road

Shortly after 1:30pm on April 12, emergency services were scrambled to a blaze at a flat on Kale Road. Four fire engines and 25 firefighters tackled the inferno head-on.

The fire was so fierce it could be seen from a distance. The emergency room was flooded with 28 calls reporting the dramatic incident.

Flat Destroyed But Occupant Escapes

The flames engulfed a three-room flat, gutting it beyond repair. Thankfully, one occupant managed to escape before the fire brigade arrived.

Fire Under Control in Under an Hour

Crews from nearby Plumstead, Bexley, and East Greenwich stations joined forces and brought the fire under control within 60 minutes.

Authorities evacuated surrounding homes as a safety precaution. The cause of the fire remains a mystery, but police confirm it’s not gang-related. An investigation is underway.
