Fire Erupts Outside Waitrose in Ruislip After Homeless Man’s Belongings Set Ablaze
Arson Sparks Blaze at Busy Supermarket
A dramatic fire broke out outside the Waitrose store on Kingsend, Ruislip, late on Friday night. The blaze reportedly started after a homeless man’s belongings, left on a bench beside the store, were deliberately set on fire.
Emergency Services Race to the Scene
Fire crews were alerted at around 11pm on 9th August 2024. Eight fire crews rushed to tackle the rapidly spreading flames, which soon engulfed part of the store’s property. Police are treating the incident as suspected arson, with investigations underway into the exact cause.
No Injuries but Area Locked Down
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported so far. However, the area remains cordoned off while firefighters work tirelessly to bring the blaze under control. Locals and shoppers have been urged to steer clear of the scene until emergency services give the all-clear.
