Massive House Fire Rips Through Worting Road Home

Fire crews from Basingstoke and two neighbouring stations raced to a blazing house fire on Worting Road this morning. At least 25 firefighters are battling flames that have engulfed the semi-detached property’s roof and upper floors.

Blaze Spreads Rapidly, Road Shut Down

The fire broke out at 9.53am and quickly spread across the three-storey home’s first and second floors. Firefighters have called in an aerial ladder from Winchester to tackle the well-developed blaze.

Police have closed Worting Road in both directions at the junction with Penrith Road, bringing local traffic to a halt. Thick black smoke billows over the neighbourhood as crews work to stop the fire spreading to nearby homes.

Residents Warned as Disruption Mounts

A large crowd has gathered to watch the dramatic scene unfold. Local bus routes 3, 4, 11 and 76 are diverting until further notice due to the road closure.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “Thankfully nobody was injured. We advise residents nearby to keep windows and doors shut.”
