Massive Heath Fire Rages in Gosport’s Alver Valley
Firefighters are battling a huge blaze at Alver Valley Country Park, Gosport, with smoke visible all the way to the Isle of Wight. Emergency services have scrambled multiple crews after an overwhelming flood of 999 calls to Hampshire control.

The thick smoke and fiery flames have lit up the sky, causing alarm miles away. A police helicopter equipped with a thermal camera is sweeping the area, pinpointing hotspots to help crews douse the flames fast.

Second Major Blaze in Months
This is not the first flare-up in the area. A large heath fire struck the same park on 14th May 2019, showing a worrying pattern for the popular green space.
