Firefighter Hurt After Bottle Thrown at Fire Engine in Ridley Road

Chaos erupted in east London in the early hours of Thursday, 12 January. At 1.45am, police were alerted by the London Fire Brigade after a bottle was hurled at a fire engine on Ridley Road, E8, injuring one firefighter.

No Arrests as Investigation Continues

The attack happened while firefighters were responding to an automatic one-alarm call on the street. A Met Police spokesman confirmed the incident but said no arrests have been made yet. “At 01:45hrs on Thursday, 12 January, police were contacted by LFB after a bottle was thrown at an LFB vehicle in Ridley Road E8, injuring a member of staff,” the spokesperson said.

Police say inquiries are ongoing as officers dig deeper into the shocking assault on emergency workers.
