Two Teen Boys Stabbed to Death in Shocking Greenwich Murders

Police are hunting for answers after two 16-year-olds were fatally stabbed in Greenwich last Saturday evening. The brutal killings have rocked communities in Abbey Wood and Thamesmead.

Heartfelt Tribute from Police

Detective Superintendent Richard Mcdonagh spoke near the scenes of the attacks. “This is an extremely sad day for Greenwich,” he said. “Our thoughts are with the families of Charlie Bartolo and Kearne Solanke, the two boys tragically killed. Their loss has left the whole area shocked and heartbroken.”

On Saturday, November 26, around 5:10pm, officers responded to emergency calls reporting two injured teens in separate locations about a mile apart – Sewell Road, Abbey Wood, and Titmuss Avenue, Thamesmead. Both boys suffered fatal stab wounds.

Investigation Underway as Police Appeal for Witnesses

The Met’s South East Command Unit is leading a specialist investigation, treating the murders as linked. Mcdonagh urged locals to come forward, especially if they saw a dark SUV or 4×4 with silver roof bars in the area before the killings.

“We’re grateful to those who have already spoken to police,” he said. “But we need more help to bring justice for Charlie and Kearne. If anyone has information, please call 101 with reference 4943/26nov or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Tough Measures in Place to Keep Area Safe

A Section 60 order is active until 7am Monday, November 28, across parts of SE2 and SE18, allowing police to stop and search to prevent further violence. Follow @MPSGreenwich for updates.
