Armed police swarm Miles Road after shooting
A dramatic shooting took place on Tuesday, January 9, when gunfire erupted in a car park on Miles Road, Mitcham. Police were scrambled at around 3.05pm, with armed units arriving on the scene within minutes.
Victim rushed to hospital in stable condition
Officers from the Metropolitan Police joined paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance to assist those injured. A man suffering a gunshot wound was quickly transported to hospital. Thankfully, doctors have confirmed his injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.
Police hunt for witnesses to crack case

Met Police spokesman said:
“Police were called at 15:05hrs on Tuesday, 9 January to reports of a shooting in a car park in Miles Road, Mitcham. Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. A man was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound. His condition was assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing. An investigation is underway and enquiries are ongoing. Any witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 3884/09Jan.”
