Heroin Haul and Cash Seized in Mansfield Drug Raid
Police stormed a property on Ladybrook Place, Mansfield, just after 4.30pm on Friday, June 30. Officers forced entry through the front door, surprising a group gathered in the living room.
Suspects Caught with Drugs and Hidden Cash
The raid uncovered a stash of suspected Class A drugs (heroin), piles of cash, and numerous mobile phones. One suspect was strip-searched, revealing a large quantity of brown wraps hidden in his underwear.
Cash was found stuffed inside a sofa where another suspect sat, while a third had a significant amount hidden in a sock. Police also seized weighing scales, an extendable baton, a flick knife, and a bag of cannabis.
More Warrants Executed in Related Probe
Two further warrants were carried out in Layton Burroughs on June 29, targeting drug supply evidence. Though no items were seized, investigations continue around both locations.
Police Praise Community Tips and Ongoing Inquiry
Sergeant Alice Bartle of Mansfield Central Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This was a great result by officers who have removed a significant amount of suspected heroin and cash from this property.
“The community had raised concerns about the activity coming from this address and we have acted upon that intelligence.
“No one should have to live next to a property suspected of dealing Class A drugs and all the anti-social behaviour this can cause.
“We are now working on a number of lines of inquiry to build up a better picture of this drugs operation.”
